I first heard about Nicquel through a good friend of mine. I'm so lucky to have had her for my wedding. She is so sweet and patient. I have very dry skin and thick hard-to-tame hair. She did her magic and my hair and makeup lasted all day! I kept getting compliments on my whole look all night!

Nicquel came recommended by a good friend who is also a make-up artist. I had done previous trials elsewhere that were an epic fail. I was planning my own wedding and dealing with a lot of different personalities and skin tones. I needed a true professional! THANK GOD (or whoever you believe in) FOR NICQUEL!

I went to her studio for a trial, explained my comfort level with the amount of make-up I like to wear compared to the looks I thought I would like. I'm more of a classic romantic, a little-glam, since I'm a "sweaty-betty". I went "full glam" because I thought we can always wear less the day of. I put my trial make-up through a full workout, spicy Mexican food, and enough margaritas (you know for research purposes) and that's how I knew she was THE ONE. Her make-up survived and looked great! Her eyeliner skills are surgically precise.

She followed-up with the trial, we did some edits, so on my wedding, as chaos ensued she was able to recreate the updated look in half of the time. It's imperative you have a trial and soo worth it. It helps in case any hiccups occur, whether it's the venue, planner, or families fault. Originally my own mother declined make-up and after seeing my mother-in-laws jaw-dropping looks, she was ready to take the seat. My mom looked completely unrecognizable, in the BEST way possible. For someone who doesn't wear anything other than lip gloss or blush every decade. My mother looked absolutely stunning, her confidence was at a level ONE MILLION! Everyone looked like their best versions of themselves. It was beautiful to see Niquel wave her magic brushes and blend all different skin tones. The make up stayed on all night and our picture and hair remained gloriously pinned. I'll let my pictures speak for themselves.

I found Nicquel through my photographer, Ariele Chapman, and it was one of, if not the best recommendation I had been given throughout the entire wedding planning process! From the start, Nicquel was so kind and responsive about my engagement shoot makeup inquiries. I am a sweater, like I will turn around and just start sweating, there is no way around that and it was something I was worried about regarding my makeup for the shoot, but mainly for the wedding. I had also been told by others who had gone to her for makeup that they hiked in her makeup and it still looked flawless so that provided affirmation for me. When I tell you that she made me feel like the most beautiful woman to ever stepped foot on that beach, that would be an understatement. She is so talented and the hair and makeup truly lasted without a smudge and I was running up and down in the sand and water! Now in process for the wedding, she was incredible in helping me choose hair extensions and everything else I needed to make my chunky braid dreams come true. Her and her team provided a great timeline for myself and all of the girls for hair and makeup the day of and did an incredible job. Again, Nicquel exceeded my dreams and expectations with my hair and makeup and provided me with some extra liner and lip gloss for the rest of the day. I finished my makeup around 10:30 am and we quickly went to the venue, took pictures, and partied until close to 1 am and my hair and makeup still looked flawless! I cannot recommend Nicquel more! She is so sweet and passionate about what she does and you can truly tell. Nicquel and her team did a fabulous job with hair and makeup for me and the girls on my wedding day. Nicquel is professional, sweet and transformed me to a Hollywood glam bride; she does a really great job with contouring. She even provided a bridal makeup touchup kit with necessities, which I didn't really need as my makeup stayed perfect all day. I recommend her for bridal or special events makeup and hair.

I highly highly recommend Nicquel as your hair and makeup artist for your wedding!! She did my hair and makeup for my engagement photoshoot and wedding. She understood my vision and did exactly what I wanted, and did such a beautiful job. She was very easy to work with and was able to address any questions or concerns that I had. I love how she contours and does eye makeup. For my engagement photoshoot I wanted heavy makeup (heavy contour and glam look) for the photos but still look as natural as possible without it looking cakey. And she did exactly that! For the wedding I wanted a glam look but with a softer contour compared to the engagement photoshoot, and she did just that! I am so obsessed with her work. She’s also a really kind and sweet person. As someone who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup on a regular basis, I wanted my makeup to look like me but elevated! I didn’t want much contour, and wanted a bronzey glow. Nicquel made sure to take note of my preferences and inspiration photos. She executed my vision to a tee! My bridal trial with her helped a lot to solidify exactly what I wanted. Holy cow. SHE MADE ME FEEL LIKE A DREEEEEAM!!!!!!!! I wanted a really natural look and she conquered. I don’t remember feeling THIS GORGEOUS in a long time. I booked her really last minute because I was convinced I could do it myself. Nope, best decision ever.

So my husband and I were married in April of 2022. My cousin was married the year prior and recommended the makeup artist that handled her bridal party. I reached out to Nicquel and immediately was in love with her... not only a makeup/ hair professional but as a person as well. We immediately brought Nicquel and her team on to handle our bridal party and both mothers from each side. One word about Nicquel's team.... AMAZING!! Although, I never got to meet Nicquel in person due to her being placed on bed rest for her pregnancy (she actually had the baby the day of our wedding) I have to say she was amazing at communicating throughout the entire process. She gave me more than enough notice and assured me that her team would be able to handle everything and she had complete faith and trust in them... and boy was she right. As a gay man, I thought I had the makeup aspect and hair aspect down but I was wrong. There was soooo much I didn't know or had to know but Nicquel explained everything in detail and was incredibly patient with me and was always making sure everything made sense. Her team arrived on time and even handled some unplanned women that needed makeup and hair done. They were extremely professional and efficient. Their vibe just set the mood for the day... and being friends with so many women I can tell you that, that literally makes all the difference. Everyone got along. Nicquel is amazingly talented! I booked her for my wedding last November (2020). She completely nailed the look I was going for. She’s very skilled and so professional. Nicquel is the best! I was in a stitch after doing a wedding makeup trial with another artist that went horribly. When I posted on a site about it she offered her advice and helped readily. I could tell just by looking at her work that she is amazing! Her work is so diverse and she's a master at many looks! I ended up doing a makeup and hair trial with her and she listened well and did things exactly as I asked. I was so relieved that she was willing to travel to do makeup for only me! We had our wedding yesterday and she was amazing! I didn't have a clear vision of what I wanted yet. She checked with me every step of the way to make sure we were going in the direction that I wanted and she didn't give me a hard time when I wanted changes. I felt bad having her undo things but she made the changes so quickly! She's a magician! My makeup and hair turned out exactly as I wanted and my partner loved it so much! Even today he keeps saying how hot I looked. Nicquel is so easy going and it was really fun to hang out with her. Nicquel is amazing! She did my 8 bridesmaids as well as my mom’s make up for my wedding. She and her assistant came to our hotel room and made each girl feel so gorgeous. The make up looked so great even late into the night (and after many happy tears) —no lashes were falling off! She even gave everyone touch up kits-which was so sweet. Nicquel and her team were amazing the day of my wedding. They handled 3 bridesmaids, 1 friend, my mom, my aunt, 2 picky junior bridesmaids and my me! If you are nervous about booking an MUA, just stop now and give Nicquel a call. Long story short I had Nicquel come and do a trial for me but ended up going with another MUA which was a mistake. Nicquel was transparent, on time, clean, and really informative. My best friend paid for my wedding makeup and she was leaning more towards another artist who we decided to go with. (Who had bad breath day of the wedding, was 45 minutes late to both appointments PRIOR to my wedding, and was an hour late day of my wedding.) Do yourself a favor and stop searching! The makeup Nicquel did for my trial/engagement photos was so beautiful and stayed all day. I felt really confident and the look she did really read well in photos!!!! I hired Niquel for my wedding day on 7/20/19 for myself, MOB, MOG, bridesmaids, and my nina. We all loved our makeup and hair. It was so quick and came out lovely. I usually don't wear much makeup so she was so great at giving me the look I wanted. We even squeezed in my Mother in law last minute. She gave us all touch up bags, but All our makeup and hair lasted all day and night through dancing and photos in the heat. Loved her service. Will definitely use her again.

I first reached out to Nicquel for makeup & hair for my engagement photo shoot. Her communication and professional was better than I could have ever expected. Her main priority is making sure you as her client are completely happy with her work. I was so happy with her work I asked if she was available for my wedding, which was September, 7th 2018. Luckily, she was available. I had a total of 5 bridesmaids plus 2 flower girls & my mother & my mother in law. All of my girls loved their makeup!!
